Top 10 songs of 2018
2018 has been quite the year from England reaching the World Cup Semi-Final to an endless bore of Brexit catastrophes. Amongst all this some great music was released in 2018 here is 3005s top 10.
1) Childish Gambino - This Is America
In May 2018 Childish Gambino (Donald Glover) released This Is America, a track about the current state of the 'Land of the Free'. With reference to the staggering number of gun crime incidents and a beautifully savage depiction of the current state of lower-class young Americans in the songs music video, Mr Gambino created a truly memorable song for 2018. The video currently has 455 million views in just 7 months. We are all praying Childish will carry on writing (amidst acting, directing and other ventures) in 2019.
2) Dean Lewis - Be Alright
The 31 year old Aussie has had a brilliant 2018 culminating in his latest track Be Alright. The song is about his break-up and advice he got from his brother. The catchy song has gone viral around the world and this boy is being deemed by many as the 'Aussie Ed'.
3) Post Malone - Better Now
Post Malone in 2018 relesed his second album 'Beerbongs & Bentleys'. The American rapper on this album wrote a masterpiece, Better Now. Many critics hve argued this is the song of 2018 and performed live the song is getting manic reactions. Keep it up PM!
4) Jorja Smith - Blue Lights
Representing the UK Jorja Smith is an up and coming R&B star. This is the pinnacle of her work this year and won 'Song of the Year' at the MOBO awards. Jorja will slowly but surely show the world in 2019 just how talented she really is.
5) 1975 - It's Not Living (If It's Not With You)
The 1975 earlier this month released their new album 'A Brief Enquiry Into Online Relationships'. The album has many well-acclaimed tracks. None more so than this cracker, enjoy.....
6) The Chainsmokers - Everybody Hates Me
The Chainsmokers had another good year with the release of their album 'Sick Boy'. This track on the album is a simple but Chainsmoker-esque ckub record. The song is addictive and will lead you to other great tracks on the album. The American duo are set to tour next year and do all the major summer festivals.
7) Maroon 5 - Girls Like You (Ft Cardi B)
This record went viral in 2018. With a music video featuring key women of the year the track emphasises the importance of women (which we all should be aware of). The track features Cardi B who by all means should have a few of her own pieces on this list (I Like It, Be Careful and so on). The song is a classic and this video of a dad and daughter singing along to it emphasises the brilliance of the track.
8) Drake - In My Feelings
Drake is an absolute machine in the booth. He consistently makes number 1s including this track. The song explores Drake's past relationships (as per). The song not onky went straight to number 1 but also created a dance phenomenon which involved jumping out of your car (stay safe everbody!).
9) Khalid - Love Lies (with Normani)
This track is a chilled out anthem that took the world by storm earlier this year. Khalid is becoming a well known name in the music world. The song is a top track of 2018, Khalid has already announced to fans he is releasing a new album in 2019.
10) George Ezra - Paradise
To finish off George Ezra released his second album this year 'Staying at Tamara's'. The album has some great tracks including Paradise. The song is a great sing along track that does justice to Ezra's deep voice. George is touring in 2019 with the album, and has really stepped up his game in 2019.
